~ Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin

"Every life has peaks and shadows and times when it seems that the birds don't sing and bells don't ring. Yet in spite of discouragement and adversity, those who are happiest seem to have a way of learning from difficult times, becoming stronger, wiser, and happier as a result. -Come What May, and Love It," Ensign, Nov. 2008, 26"

Polly, do you ever wish he'd said come what may and learn from it instead of "and love it?" We can learn something from all things, but loving them is a stretch I haven't been able to make so far.

I don't spend any time right now worrying about that particular idea... A while back I got this feeling as I was praying over a particular challenge, that when all the pieces fall into place and can see the BIGGEST picture, I will LOVE every single lesson the Lord gave me to learn... but after that experience I was left this attitude that right now loving my challenges, hardship, struggles and/or rainy days isn't important... I just need to bear them with grace and faith... I am willing to wait for the rest...

When I was a child I was terrified of lightning, it's a little strange that having had a child live through a lightning strike has actually taken that fear away... With God all things are possible... even love of those things I think are impossible to love...
